Description
Lebanon is the historical birthplace of the Olive tree. Its Mediterranean climate and fertile soil are ideal for the production of Olive oil, an oil that is used abundantly in the local gastronomy.
The oil is cold pressed, purely mechanically, by grinding olives into a paste followed by pressing with no use of any chemical substances.
Olive oil is one of the essential ingredients in Middle Eastern restaurant cuisine. It is abundant in Lebanese food—drizzled over Tabbouleh, Fattoush & salads, used in pastries and bread, mixed with Za’atar, generously topping dishes like Hommos, Labneh & many others. Olive oil is also used to marinate meat, chicken and fish and used for cooking.
Keep a small tinted glass bottle in your kitchen for daily use and store the rest in a tinted glass container in a cool, dark place such as a basement or in your kitchen cabinet.
